ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
edia 3.0 Foundation is an independent non-governmental organization working towards building an information society. We create tools that improve civic participation and increase transparency of public institutions. We also aim to make the Internet available for everyone, which is why we not only precess public data, but also make them available and visible for every citizen. We propagate utilizing information and communication technologies in the proceedings of public institutions and non-governmental organizations, but we also design such technologies ourselves. Our democracy-supporting tools are designed and created based on latest technologies and use open data, data journalism, and public data processing. In 2014, in cooperation with US-based Sunlight Foundation, we created Parlament, a groundbreaking mobile application, the first of its kind in Poland and Europe. We also run Poland’s first data journalism website – Datablog.pl. At the same time, we aim to increase awareness of utilizing new technologies not only through public institutions and non-governmental organizations – in addition to NGO representatives or students, we also train ministry and local government workers. While operating domestically, we carry out international projects, cooperating with the most important organizations in Europe and worldwide.
