Datablog.pl is the first Polish website based on data journalism. We look for stories hidden among numbers. We cover a multitude of subjects, but we focus on processing public data, while following the political life of the country. We gather data, analyze it, visualize, and describe it. We also aim to popularize data journalism, which is why we also publish multiple courses on data journalism. We consider data visualization to be the natural way of telling stories. Visualizations allow to understand complex problems and quickly present what is invisible at first glance. However, numbers without context are only numbers, which is why we also give great importance to text. Example? A non-standard manner of data visualization on suicides allowed us to notice trends, which were imperceptible using simple graphs.
